Welkom achter de schermen van WoodFungi!
Misschien hoorde je het al waaien, maar nu helemaal officieel:
WoodFungi Conference 2027 vindt plaats van 8 tot en met 11 juni 2027.
Voor onze tweede editie kiezen we opnieuw voor het karaktervolle en bruisende Gent, en dan meer bepaald voor de inspirerende historische site van De Bijloke.
De historische site van de Bijloke biedt precies het inspirerende kader waarin we onze 400+ internationale gasten willen ontvangen.
Op 8, 9 en 10 juni slaan we daar onze WoodFungi-tenten op.
Op 11 juni trekken we samen met de deelnemers op pad voor bedrijfsbezoeken.
Sommigen waren er al bij in 2018, tijdens de eerste editie. Voor anderen (net als voor mezelf trouwens) wordt dit onze eerste WoodFungi.

Welcome behind the scenes of WoodFungi
You may have already heard the news, but now it’s finally official:
WoodFungi Conference 2027 will take place from 8 to 11 June 2027.
For this second edition, we are once again choosing the vibrant and characterful city of Ghent, more specifically the inspiring historic site of De Bijloke.
De Bijloke offers exactly the warm en inspiring atmosphere we have in mind to welcome our 400+ participants from around the world.
On 8, 9 and 10 June, we will set up our WoodFungi tents there.
On 11 June, we will take our participants on the road to visit interesting companies.
Some of you may remember the first edition back in 2018. For others (just like for myself) this will be our first WoodFungi edition.
Wat is WoodFungi?
WoodFungi is de door ons georganiseerde internationale conferentie met als centraal thema de teelt van specialiteitenpaddenstoelen.
Deelnemers zijn voornamelijk professionals uit de sector, zoals:
- broedproducenten
- substraatproducenten
- telers
- toeleveranciers
- onderzoekers
Waar we bij de eerste editie 250 enthousiaste deelnemers mochten verwelkomen, mikken we in 2027 op ruim 400 deelnemers.
Deze editie zullen we ook de mogelijkheid aanbieden om online mee te volgen. Zo bereiken we een breder publiek dat bijvoorbeeld om budgettaire of praktische redenen moeilijker kan reizen.
Naast de focus op teelt is er ook ruimte voor aanverwante thema’s, zoals:
- mycomaterialen
- innovatieve toepassingen van fungi
- artistieke verwerking rond het thema paddenstoelen
In volle voorbereiding
Uiteraard moet alles nog verder concreet vorm krijgen en daar zijn we momenteel volop mee bezig. We werken aan een prikkelend programma met boeiende sprekers, uitdagende panelgesprekken, en vooral veel momenten om te netwerken en contacten te leggen.
Via deze pagina nemen we je graag mee achter de schermen om mee te volgen hoe WoodFungi 2027 stap voor stap tot leven komt. Kom dus zeker af en toe eens terug kijken om op de hoogte te blijven van de vorderingen.

But what is WoodFungi?
WoodFungi is our very own international conference with a central focus on the cultivation of specialty mushrooms.
Participants are mainly professionals from the sector, including:
- spawn producers
- substrate producers
- growers
- suppliers
- researchers
While we welcomed 250 enthusiastic participants at the first edition, we are aiming for over 400 participants in 2027.
For this edition, we offer the option to join online, allowing us to reach a wider audience who may find it difficult to travel due to budgetary or practical reasons.
In addition to mushroom cultivation, the programme will also include related themes such as:
- mycomaterials
- innovative applications of fungi
- artistic interpretations connected to the world of mushrooms
Preparations in full swing
Of course, many details still need to be shaped, and that’s exactly what we’re working on right now.
On this page, we’d love to take you behind the scenes and keep you updated on how the preparations are progressing and how WoodFungi 2027 is coming to life. So be sure to check back from time to time to stay up to date.
